Arrive and settle into your accommodation whether you’re staying at our Mangowine Caravan Park, McCorrys Old Hotel/Caravan Park, Nungarin Shire Caravan Park or The Woolshed Hotel. The Woolshed Hotel from 6-8:30pm, offers a huge range of food in an award winning country pub where you can enjoy a fantastic, mouth-watering meal seated at the bar or in the dining room. Feel like a night in? Ring McCorrys Old Hotel (ph.0497 575 907) and order a delicious meal that is beautifully presented and delivered to your door step if you’re situated in town or you can pick up! (Dine in also available).
You’ll need energy for the upcoming adventure! Stop by Wegners Rural for a relaxing breakfast seated out the front in the main street of town. Order from their range of homemade cakes, slices, hot snacks, or order from the cafés wide selection of wraps, burgers, toasties and drinks. You can even take a snack for the trip. Venture north to Mangowine Homestead (15kms away), make sure to ask the caretaker for a tour! This National Trust building holds a rich history and is classically restored in its original form dating back to the 1880’s gold rush. Every room holds a different story!
Still eager to continue adventuring? Enjoy an afternoon at one of the rocks within our Shire. Accompanied by scenic views travel to Danberrin Rock or Talgomine Reserve for an afternoon picnic and walk up and around these beautiful landscapes. Or travel to Eaglestone Rock, climb up any point of the rock and enjoy the vast views of Lake Brown. Wander down to the water’s edge and explore the caves. You’ll be amazed the smallest entry could contain a huge cave system.
If you have planned your trip for the first weekend of the month spend the your Sunday morning wandering the Nungarin Wheatbelt Markets located on the main street! Head down to the Nungarin Heirtage Machinery and Army Museum from 0800 to 1000 to treat yourself to a $10 breakfast prepared freshly at the Museum Café. Float around after breakfast and tour the largest WWII army depot in Western Australia, this huge museum could keep you captivated for hours. After spending a morning at the Museum, its time to pack up the car and enjoy a leisurely afternoon drive back to home.
